Our vacations in St. Kitts and Nevis

This year's winter was unusually long and harsh. When the snow still continued to fall by Easter (2014), we couldn't take it anymore and decided to escape to the warm South to recover and forget the bitter cold and dreary weather in the North. We were looking for a quiet place, away from the busy touristy locations with a flair of local culture. So, we spent the Easter week in St. Kitts, a small volcanic island in the Caribbean. It was a good choice and we enjoyed the peaceful environment, friendly local people, good Caribbean food and drinks, plenty of beaches and of course the sunny warm tropical climate. And most of it, we loved the motto of the island "Rush Slowly"!

Timothy Beach Resort

St. Kitts has only one large resort on the rough Atlantic ocean with a crowd of tourists, which we avoided. Instead our resort is located on the Caribbean side of the island, on South Frigate Bay with its warm and calm blue water. Timothy Beach resort is directly on the beach and only minutes away from a small village with shops and eating places. The resort is peaceful and quiet for most of the week and we were visited by monkeys, mongoose, roosters and many birds. But on the weekends the beach attracts many locals, and we could join the beach parties and dine in the many beach shacks along the shore.
