Our vacations in St. Lucia and Martinique

Our travel destination (January 2011) was the small island of St. Lucia in the southern Caribbean. It is a mountainous island with lush vegetation throughout and a tropical climate. A steady breeze from the Atlantic Ocean makes this a comfortable place to spend some relaxing vacation time, and forget the bitter cold and snow of Canada. Castries, the Capital of St. Lucia, is a popular place of call for cruise ships, while Rodney Bay is one of the premier yacht harbours of the Caribbean. These amenities make St. Lucia a perfect place to take some day-long boat tours to neighboring Caribbean islands.

Rodney Bay

Our home away from home was located at the northern tip of St. Lucia at Rodney Bay. The prettiest and longest beach of St. Lucia, Reduit beach, is located here. We stayed in a resort right next to the beach and enjoyed the calm warm waters of the Caribbean sea.
